Music Helps Save Lives This Summer

CHICAGO, Ill. (July, 2007) MUSIC SAVES LIVES, a conduit between music, entertainment and important life-saving causes, is teaming up with the world famous Vans Warped Tour and blood banks across the nation, including the local American Red Cross, to rally thousands of concert goers to give blood. MUSIC SAVES LIVES (MSL) blood drives are running for several weeks leading up to the Vans Warped Tour.
All who participate at a MSL blood drive will receive one VIP backstage pass (admission ticket not included), a CD featuring Vans Warped Tour artists and a burrito card courtesy of Chipotle Mexican Grill.
The Vans Warped Tour concert will be held on Saturday, July 28th at the First Midwest Amphitheatre in Tinley Park. MUSIC SAVES LIVES seeks an ultimate goal of raising over 30,000 units of blood this summer throughout the country. For more information about MUSIC SAVES LIVES, visit www.musicsaveslives.org.
Summer blood donations in the Midwest can drop as much as 10 percent between the Memorial Day and Labor Day holidays. By donating one pint of blood, you can help save up to three lives. The Red Cross is asking all eligible donors to give blood at one of the following blood drives:

A blood donor card or driver’s license, or two other forms of identification, are required at blood drive check-in. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with signed Red Cross parental consent form) and must weigh at least 110 pounds. Please visit www.givebloodgivelife.org to schedule an appointment.
